The Phytogeographical and climatic systems of Palestine
The Mediterranean Sea Region:
The Mediterranean natural forests-tree cluster of evergreen and deciduous forests- have a sistribution consistent with the Mediterranean region’s climate. The forest spreads through costal plains, mountain highland, and the northern part of the Jordan Valley. The rainfall ranges from 400 to 800 mm. In the mountain slopes, there are Oaks and Pistacia species, Greek Strawberry tree, Mediterranean cypress, Pine trees, Juniper, Poplar, Stone Pine, Wormwood, and wild Olives. On the lower slopes of the highlands are the Aleppo pine forests, Carob trees, Thorn Jujube, and Mediterranean Cypress.
