Important Bird Areas (IBAs)

Important Bird Areas (IBAs) are sites identified as being globally important for the conservation of bird populations on the basis of an internationally agreed set of criteria. In Palestine, we still need many studies to identify important bird areas based on scientific foundations and international criteria, but there are four areas that have been recognized by Bird-life International (BI) with a total area of about 21,500 ha (http://www.birdlife.org/datazone/country/palestinian-authority-territories/ibas ) as important bird areas with a need for scientific studies in these areas.
