Wadi Al-Quff Management Plan

It is located about 6 km west of the city of Hebron. It covers an area of ​​2,575 dunums. It has been protected since the British Mandate period and was cultivated in 1927. It is characterized by the existence of unique geological structures, and unique archaeological sites, as well as considered a water harvesting area and aquatic recharge of groundwater. This in turn led to the presence of several strong springs. There are steep cliffs and outcrops of limestone and dolomite, as well as the Saffa cave, which is inhabited by fruit bat species.

 

Biodiversity of the reserve:

Birds: Eurasian Hobby, (Winter) Wren, Short-toed Eagle, (Common) Blackbird, Palestine Sunbird, and Sardinian Warbler.

Fauna species: Striped Hyena, Palestine Mountain Gazelle, Indian Hystrix, Red Fox, Honey Badger, Egyptian Mongoose and many other species of reptiles of snakes, scorpions, and amphibians.

Flora: Oak species, Pistacia species, Mediterranean Cyprus, Aleppo Pine, Carob, Spiny Howthorn, Russian Olive tree, Styrax, Greek Strawberry tree, Palestine Buckthorn. In addition to hundreds of shrubs, perennials, and annuals.
